Of course you don't because this is an original cover featuring Golden Age comic book characters that are now in the public domain. Battling the evil Cyborilla, it's Hydroman, Man o' Metal, Magno, TNT Todd, and Nelvana of the Northern Lights. The Sentinels logo is original and was provided for us by the fan who requested this. This cover is 11x17 and all the logo and text elements were drawn by hand. It was completed on 9/25/11. |

EC COMICS Homage!
This is an homage to the legendary EC Comics which features Tales From The Crypt. There are several iconic images from the EC run that you will recognize that were originally drawn by the stable of great EC artists like Al Feldstein, Johnny Craig, Jack Davis, Will Elder, among others. The layout for this piece is based on the backdrop of a Tales From The Crypt pinball game. And the female character in the lower right is Jocelyn from our VAMPIRE, PA series. On this recreation, Adam Strange and Kanjar Ro have been replaced with Captain Marvel and the Space Phantom, respectively. All that, plus we had to give the artwork a Lou Fine feel (Lou Fine a Golden Age artist of great renown). A fun cover to do and completed on 6/20/11. |

This commission is more of a cover reinterpretation rather than a recreation due to the elements we were asked to change. The original cover, which is THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD #55, featured an appearance by The Atom but we were asked to change him to Shrinking Violet from the Legion of Super-Heroes. We also were asked to change the comic title from B&B to SHOWCASE. The original artist for this cover was Ramona Fradon. This 11x17 commission was completed on 5/29/11. |
